The designer can use the database editing option to combine several models from the above noted CSI software in a single SAFE model to design a common base mat or combined foundations! P/T tendons can be defined in slabs and beams both to balance a percentage of the self-weight. Suspended floor slabs can include flat, two-way, waffle, and ribbed framing systems. Models can have columns, braces, walls, and ramps connected from the floors above and below. Straight as well as curved walls can be modelled quickly. SAFE also offers analysis and design of steel composite beams.
Then engineers can also use pattern live load analysis to study the effect of moving live load. Mats and foundations can include nonlinear uplift from the soil springs, and a nonlinear cracked section analysis. Estimation of crack width is also available for slabs. Design strips can be generated by SAFE or drawn in a completely arbitrary manner by the user, with full control provided for locating and sizing the calculated reinforcement.
Finite element design without strips is also available and is useful for slabs with complex geometries.
